Nancy H. Michels


Nancy Michels graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1969. From there she went on to receive her MBA from Harvard Business School in 1971. She worked for several Fortune 500 companies In New York City and several firms in and around Boston in addition to being an owner of a residential construction firm. Nancy received her law degree from Suffolk University in 1979. She was admitted to practice in New Hampshire state courts and before the United States District Court in New Hampshire in 1979. She was admitted to practice before the First Circuit Court of Appeals.

Prior to merging her office into Parnell, Michels and McKay she was a partner and then sole proprietor of the law firm of Michels & Michels which she and her late husband, John Michels, established in Londonderry in 1983. Her primary concentration has been in the field of bankruptcy law where she represents consumer debtors in filing Chapter 13 bankruptcies and individuals and businesses in filing a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. She also represents creditors in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcies. Nancy is also experienced in helping individuals protect themselves when their former spouse files a bankruptcy. She was a former Chapter 13 Trustee. She has lectured extensively regarding the Bankruptcy Code. In addition to being a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association, she is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and NACBA (National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys).

In addition to practicing law, Nancy serves on the Board of Directors of the Greater Derry/ Londonderry Chamber of Commerce and on the Board of Directors of CART. She is also active in the Manchester Chamber of Commerce where she is a member of several committees.
